Green Heart Den......Urban Oasis: Our community grow your own scheme

The Green Heart Den consists of; a user friendly urban oasis in which people can relax in and enjoy, possibly taking part in a range of activities and visiting again and again and the soon to be completed community grow your own scheme. It is managed by volunteers forming The Marsh Street Arches and Garden Community Interest Company who are also developing a similar sized plot of land, to the immediate north of the arches, as a community grow your own scheme.

Community grow your own scheme

We believe than among the main health benefits of such a scheme would include; increased opportunities for physical activity, improved mental health and well being and the increased availability of fresh food. We also hope that by working together and in partnership with health organisations involved in both the mental health and disability sectors it could help to reduce the stigmatisation and isolation that both those sufferig with mental health conditions and those with disabilities can feel.
