Bat Event

Pictured below is Rich Flight from the Westmorland and Furness Bat Group who provided an interesting presentation all about bats for members of Central and Hindpool Junior Wardens at Greengate Junior School.

Following the presentation we all visited the Green Heart Den to look for and identify the species of bats that inhabit the area. During the event Rich helped to identify common pipistrelle bats.

Whats next? -  We are aiming to hold similar events during the year and to make and install bat boxes which will hopefully encourage other bats to visit and roost in the immediate area.
