The slow worms around the Green Heart Den appear to be healthy

Slow-Worms are protected by law under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. It is an offence to:

• Intentionally kill or injure a Slow-Worm.
• Transport for sale or exchange, or offer for sale or exchange a live of dead Slow-Worm.

The maximum fine on conviction of offences is currently £5000.
