Railway arches secure gated entrance

Gilmour Fabrications Ltd have now completed the installation of the new, secure gated access to arches E and F, facing the Green Heart Den.

This work has improved the visible appearance of the arches and provided additional usable space for; shelter, storage, volunteer activities and potential non for profit community events.

Funding to enable this work was provided by The Sir John Fisher Foundation and Barrow Borough Council.

Currently we are trying to secure additional funding which would enable us to provide a similar, secure gated entrance to the last remaining arch facing the Green Heart Den.

We would like to take this opportunity and thank Network Rail for providing the works consents which allowed us to make these improvements to the railway arches.
